When a former Seattle Sounder and two passionate, local soccer fans decided to form a semi-professional soccer team in Ballard, it was an honor to be able to create a vision of what it could represent. The Ballard FC launch video is the encapsulation of everything that the team strives to represent in the greater Ballard community. Words and shot list done by myself. Starting in 2019, I began helping PEARL iZUMi with their email copy and social media posts. They were looking for a more authentic voice to convey their brand’s proprietary technologies and a new focus on sustainability without sacrificing market share.

The world is full of characters, especially local bike paths. I explored a handful of my favorites that I regularly see on the Burke-Gilman Trail, Seattle’s premiere riding route that cuts from the Puget Sound to the base of the Cascades.

In the latest episode of Gravel Bike Journals, I travel to Bend to meet up with riding partner, Alex Puryear. Alex was in charge of the route this trip, and he picked a doozy by taking us up 5k+ feet on the first day to put us at the feet of the Three Sisters volcanos.

Through consistent messaging, community content, influencer marketing, and award winning campaigns (HSMAI) Staypineapple’s social channels are on the rise. Staypineapple’s Instagram community, in particular, has gone from 3k to over 15k under my stewardship the last year and a half.

With online travel agencies dominating the hotel booking landscape and reaping up to 20% commissions, getting travelers to book directly through a branded website has significant impact on the bottom line.

For Staypineapple’s website, it was imperative that the copy properly informed a curious visitor while also matching playful brand guidelines. This notion is consistent throughout the site’s many pages that touch on the brand’s various hotels, special offers, and quirky amenities.
